Doctrinal Statement

Inspiration of Scripture

We believe that all of Scripture which consists of the Old and New Testaments are the supernatural inspiration of God and are the infallible and inerrant Word of God. The Bible is the final rule and authority for faith and practice for the believer.

The Trinity
We believe that the Trinity eternally exists in three Persons as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and that these three are one God who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. God the Father is completely sovereign over all creation and is the sustainer of all life. In Him we move and have our being.

Jesus Christ (life and ministry)
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who came into this world according to prophecy to redeem mankind back from a lost state of sinfulness and separation from God. He is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life that became the provision for the atonement of sin. He died, was resurrected on the third day, and ascended to the right hand of the Father and is coming again in the last days.

Jesus Christ (atonement)
We believe that it is only through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary that mankind receives full forgiveness of sins and is brought back into a right standing and relationship with God. It is the gift of God and must be received by faith. It is not of works that anyone should boast. It is through the atonement of Jesus Christ that mankind can be saved from the wrath of God.

Holy Spirit (person and work)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the eternal Third Person of the Trinity. At salvation the Holy Spirit indwells each believer and seals them for salvation and becomes the deposit and guarantee of our heavenly and eternal inheritance. He is also the means of which the believer is to be empowered so as to walk and live in Him to bear His fruit to the glory of God.

Holy Spirit (baptism and gifts)
We believe that at the moment of salvation, the believer is baptized by the Holy Spirit and is therefore is placed and united into the Body of Christ. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a one-time event. There is no second baptism or second blessing to be sought after. A believer receives ALL of the Spirit at salvation. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to the Body of Christ for the edification of the Body. However, some of the gifts were temporary sign gifts that are no longer normal and necessary. For instance, speaking in and interpretation of tongues, are under this category of temporary sign gifts.

Man (creation, fall, eternal destiny)
We believe that mankind was originally created in the image and likeness of God but because of the fall of man at the Garden of Eden, all are born with a sin nature and are consequently in a totally depraved state. Due to this depravity mankind is separated from God and have become objects of wrath by nature and are under His condemnation. The wages of sin is death and all who remain in the depraved state are destined for judgment and eternal hell.

Salvation (work and subsequent life)
We believe that, because of the total depravity of man, he is in need of a Savior who is the lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is the gift of God and is by grace through faith, not of works that anyone should boast. Upon receiving this gift of eternal life, one is born again and can now enter the Kingdom of God. Furthermore, although salvation is not obtained by works, God has prepared works in advance for those who are created in Christ Jesus to do. A true saving faith will result in a life that issues in appropriate behavior and a manifestation of good works.

The Church (its nature, mission and polity)
We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is made up of those who are baptized into the Body of Christ at salvation by the Holy Spirit. The Church consists of the local group of believers who meet for fellowship and edification and also the universal Body of Christ which consists of all believers throughout the world. The Church, which means "a group of called out ones," are to be separate and set apart from the wickedness of this world system while at the same time are called to fulfill the great commission which is to go and evangelize making disciples of the nations in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ being light and salt to the world.

The Ordinances (Baptism Lord's supper)
We believe that Water Baptism and the Lord s Supper are two sacraments of the Church. Water Baptism is by immersion in the name of the father, Son, and Holy Spirit and is not a means of salvation but is an outward sign of an inward confession of faith in Christ. The Lord s Supper is done in remembrance of the Lord s body being broken and blood being shed on our behalf. The elements of the communion are not the literal body and blood of Jesus but are symbolic in nature. The Lord s Supper is not a means of salvation but is a commemoration of our Lord s sacrifice and provision.

The Second Coming
We believe that following the great tribulation that lasts seven years will see the literal, visible return and Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will then establish and rule His millennial Kingdom and satan will be bound. The eternal state of the saved, those who have placed their faith in Christ, upon death will be ushered immediately into the presence of the Lord in heaven. However, those who refuse to place their faith for forgiveness of sin in Christ, are still under the condemnation of God s wrath in their totally depraved state and consequently at death will be ushered immediately into hell with weeping and gnashing of teeth to await the final judgment where they will be thrown into the lake of fire for all eternity.
